Sight Words
These are the words that your child should know within 3 seconds of seeing the word. These words are extremely important in helping children start to be confident in their reading skills. The words need to be practiced at home and at school. Students can practice by making flash cards, writing the words on paper, dry erase boards or in sand or shaving cream. They can practice rolling out the letters with play dough, tracing the words, looking for words when you are out shopping and much more. There are many fun and engaging ways your child can practice. They should practice at least 5-10 minutes every night. The words below include all of the words we learn in class.
